So this posting on FB... (not posted by me, but I copied it here)

Did anyone get such an email, I did not.

Just got an email from Wyndham regarding my VIP ownership and Guest Certificates. Looks like they are fine-tuning how GC's are allotted. This change will cut my ownership GC allotment in half.
New Guest Confirmation Allocation:
Currently, members receive 15 Guest Confirmations for every 1,000,000 eligible points. Beginning in late December 2021, a system update will take place to adjust how Guest Confirmations are awarded each year to a member’s account above the first million eligible points. This update will include the following changes:
• Members with VIP by Wyndham status will receive Guest Confirmations in accordance with the chart below. Eligible points are those associated with ownership interests purchased directly through Club Wyndham or its affiliates.

Guest Confirmation Chart:

They need to put hard caps on GC's, they shouldn't be giving anyone 110 free GC's

That's a bit more generous than what they had been doing to some folks - rounding the number of million points down and giving 15 for each one. It is kind of interesting that they don't have a bump at 1.4 M to coincide with the VIPF level.

I got this e-mail around 3pm est. It will cut in half the number of GC's I get.

Here’s the full email screenshot shared on several FB forums for reference. To the best of my understanding only those VIP owners who currently have 1MM+ developer points would have received this targeted email communication. I did not receive it since I only hold 718k annual developer points and am VIPG.

I am a VIPP and got no such email.

Do you have 1MM+ annual developer points? Some grandfathered VIPP accounts don’t, hence my question.

I do if you count in my PIC which they normally do, I do indeed.

Then they shouldn't be selling people so many points either. Surely they know these people aren't going to use these millions of points all on their own?

A really big family and lotsa friends!

I have 1.9 million developer points. Used to get thirty free GCs, now down to twenty. If we ever go to another "update," some dingbat salesperson is going to tell me I ought to buy another 100K points so I can get ten more GCs -- the ten GCs they just took away from me!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and bet that most people beyond 2-3 million points didn't buy them from the developer. So in essence, Wyndham didn't sell them that many points, they sold them ~1-2 million, then they ebay'ed the hell out of the rest. At that point Wyndham is just the middle man. They waive their right of refusal on the sale, i'm guessing without even knowing WHO is buying the points, just knowing who the seller is. Then they facilitate the transfer, which they likely cannot refuse.

I used to have unlimited GCs, they already knocked them down to 30, now thhey are reducing them yet again to 15.

Then they won’t be getting 110 free GCs. That only applies to points purchased from Wyndham, and it only ever has been. Resale points have never added to the VIP GC allotment. If someone is getting 110 free GCs, it is actually because Wyndham sold them 7.5 million points.

They missed it by 100K points -- 1.5 million v. 1.4 million.

Pretty much my point - it seems a bit transparently incoherent. Eventually, people will figure out there are diminishing returns.

We are VIPF (no pics) and did not receive the email. I rarely do get the communications (so thankful for TUG and dare I say FB).

They have not been consistently implementing the 15 per 1M for quite some time. I would have predicted that they would have done that, versus a new structure. So be it. Thankful I have added the family that uses it as owners, best thing I ever did (have I said that before)?

Doubtful.

WorldMark has a VIP program roughly equivalent to Club Wyndham VIP level:

Silver - 480,000 points CWP

Gold - 720,000 points CWP

Platinum - 1,040,000 points CWP

In WorldMark, there are no VIP discounts for any reservations. Every owner, regardless of status, receives 1 housekeeping and 1 guest certificate per 10,000 credits owned (160,000 CWP equivalent).

WorldMark Platinum VIP receives unlimited housekeeping.

Wyndham, nevertheless, sells a lot of VIP memberships in WorldMark.

I received an email this afternoon. I have 1 m including 2 pics. Can you add a family members as a owner? I have few family members whom I booked my timeshare 2-5 times yearly. Should I add their names as owner so I don’t have to use GC?

You can. To do so you would have to add them onto at least one deed (and pay deed prep and recording costs+ $299 wyndham fee) or onto a cwa contract for just the $299 fee. In either case, they would become co owners of that deed or contract and you would have to get them to sign off on it when you want to sell or give it back.

If you don’t use more than your 15 now (and it sounds like you don’t) you don’t need to do anything differently.

I don’t use more than 15 GC at this point. I think I’ll keep my account the way it is now. Thank you for advice

I didn't realize that resale didn't get a certain allotment of GC's based on points. I thought it was like HK and RC's where you get a certain number of them based on points you owned, not necessarily if they were retail or not.

Non-VIP (resale or retail) gets 2 free GCs per account, whether you own 28k or 2.8 million points. It used to be only one, but they increased it a few years ago.
