Hi Everyone. I think I have a very simple question for experienced Marriott owners. How much does it cost to have the name changed on your reservation through Marriott? I just purchased a new week and as part of that purchase I agreeded to pay the fee to have the name changed on the reservation from the previous owner's name to my name. I get the impression this is not cheap, but I do not know how much. Thanks.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the Right of First Refusal, but if you are, that charge is $120.

Hi Time Traveler. No, not ROFR. I purchsed a platinum plus week at OceanWatch and once the paperwork goest through I will need to have the reservation changed from the previous owner's name to my name. I was wondering what that cost was.

That should not cost anything.

That is correct.

I do remember I had inquired about an Ebay listing stating that for $99 (or some figure) they would change the current reservation once the listing ended.

I inquired why charge for something that Marriott does for free. They replied back that their time was money. Needless to say I didn't buy.

Thanks, everyone. How funny that an ebay seller wanted to charge for something Marriott does for free.

Sometimes Marriott automatically changes the reservation when it registers the week in your name, and sometimes you have to call Owner Services to have that done.

Enjoy your purchase!

Some ebays sellers are now charging for this "service."

Once it's in your name, you will not need their assistance.
