I have an IPad that is about 3 years old I had verizion for my internet provider, and changed to consumer cellular. I am not able to pick up the Internet and the customer service can not help due to them not being set up for the I pad. A message comes up an tells me not subscribed to the net in which I was. There are some setting in there that needs to be changed but I don't know what they are. Just would like to know if anyone can help me with this matter

Take your iPad to an Apple Store and they'll help you.

When your new internet service was installed did they give you the name and password for your WIFI router? You need this to connect to wifi. Look in the brochures they gave you, it would be hand written in.

Do you mean your iPad was a Verizon iPad connected to the Verizon cell phone network? If that's the case, you're not going to get connected to Consumer Cellular via cell connection. Consumer Cellular is a GSM system and Verizon is CDMA, so they use different radio systems, even if Verizon has unlocked it.

You can connect to any Wifi source by going into your Settings page, getting into Wifi Setup, selecting a network and entering the password. This is what you do to connect at home, for instance.

If your Consumer Cellular phone has a data plan and tethering capability, then you can connect the iPad to it by Wifi. "Tethering" means the capability of becoming a small Wifi hotspot.

I have Consumer Cellular... I like that I can adjust the internet-data plan to however much I actually use each month.

For net-service: I set it up to connect automatically to my home network (router), and when on the road, I manually connect it to whatever free service is available.

But otherwise, it gets it's net-data from ATT-Wireless cell-service on which Consumer Cellular piggy-backs.

Look into it. There's usually a hefty charge to activate wifi from your phone plan.
