I am preparing a trip to a Caesar's Casino to reactive my rewards account with them and then (hopefully) match my Wyndham Rewards Diamond status with Caesar's Rewards Diamond status. As I was looking through the page on Caesar's website the other day (after a tip from The Points Guy), I noticed that they added language that they will no longer match status for anyone who has received their status through a match with another program and not "earned" WR Diamond status. I'm curious if this will apply to those of us who have received Diamond through a match with Club Wyndham VIP since it is matching with another Wyndham program (granted, Wyndham hotels and Wyndham Destinations are now two separate companies). Has anyone who is VIP Gold or above in Club Wyndham who is matched to Wyndham Rewards Diamond status tried to match with Caesar's Rewards since they added the language on their matching page? Thanks!

The way I read it on a few sites seemed to indicate that the reason for that language was because the two programs have different program years (January vs. February), you could essentially earn Diamond years ago in one program, and then infinitely match back and forth to maintain your status without ever earning it again. I can’t remember which site I saw it on, but it seemed to confirm that WR status due to a fee-based credit card was considered “earned,” and I would guess that status due to VIP would be considered earned in the same way - but a VIP could let you know if it’s working that way in practice.

I just applied for the Caesars status match using my Wyndham Rewards account. I'm currently Gold status with my Caesars rewards account - it accepted my WR# and stated my Caesars account would be updated to Diamond status within seven days. I have the WR Earners+ credit card which automatically grants Platinum status, and I'm a VIPG timeshare owner which grants me Diamond WR status level. We'll see if Caesars actually honors my Diamond WR status in a week.

It should work. I have Caesars Diamond status from casino visits and worked it the other direction to get Wyndham status.

Caesars rewards is one of the better comp programs, I haven't paide for a hotel stay in quite a while, they have casinos near several places I travel to. I have a couple of Vegas stays booked coming up, no resort fees (parking, wifi) at all as Diamond.

Thanks for this thread! We had a Vegas trip coming up, so a few
weeks ago followed instructions and transferred our Diamond status
to Caesar’s Rewards. One casino had a self-service machine next
to the CR window that would temporarily gobble your driver’s
license and then print out a fresh CR card.

We’ve used it several times for free parking at Caesar’s properties
up and down the Strip. And tonight we collected our annual $100
discount Diamond Celebration Dinner at Giada overlooking the
Strip!

Here’s a link to the Dinner freebie with a restaurant list:

And yes - it has been renewed for 2022. Check the CR web pages for more.

FWIW I just checked my Caesars Rewards account - I'm still GOLD level - so it appears that my status match to my WR Diamond level did not result in a corresponding status match upgrade to my Caesars Rewards account - which lines up with what I've read on the FB groups - that you have to actually earn the status within the Wyndham system - meaning timeshare owners will not be status matched based solely on our Wyndham timeshare ownership entitlement.

According to what I have read, you should still be updated to Caesar's Platinum status if you have the Earners' + CC. Several sites indicated that Caesars would not match status that was matched, but they would grant a match to those who gained it from EITHER room stays or the Wyndham credit cards. That might be worth a call to at least get to Caesars' Platinum.

I just went through this. The status match worked for me and my wife from WR Diamond to Caesars Diamond status. I matched through the site however it took much longer than they said it would for the match to go through. But when you do the status match on the site and if done correctly I saw the note your Caesars Status will be upgraded to Diamond in 7 - 10 Business days. In reality it took 3-4 weeks. Mine came first then my wifes upgraded the day we came home from our trip.

It might take some time, but it definitely works, unless things have changed. I did this a couple years ago and it auto renews every January, you just have to do it once. As long as you are diamond in Wyndham Rewards, it should auto upgrade you if you apply for the status match through Caesars. It doesn't, or shouldn't matter HOW you attain Diamond in WR, or in theory how long you have been Diamond with them.

It's a good perk because it gets you discounts and free parking (including valet) at all of their properties. I just spent 10 days in New Orleans at La Belle Maison and parked there free the whole time. Saved me about $300 in parking.

Someone mentioned getting free rooms, and while true, it REQUIRES gaming. If you EARN Diamond from gaming (which requires a LOT of gaming), you do in fact get free rooms, often. Mostly in Vegas, mostly at their lower end properties like Harrah's or the Flamingo or Rio. But you won't get any room offers just by being Diamond via status match. I've looked often and don't get them.

I used to do a lot of gaming and it doesn't take much to be able to stay free Mon-Thurs if you don't mind staying at Harrahs. But I don't anymore, those days are behind me.

But I will take the free parking and other discounts.

Thanks for posting this info. I'll check again next week as I applied on 3/24/2022 so it's only been about three weeks now.

Also for the moment MGM will let you status match your Caesars Diamond to MGM rweards Gold. with their new system you get $100 just like Caesar’s for a meal. So now this perk is worth $200 not to mention the other benefits. Free Parking. No resort fees.…

Even better, in ac now. Used my matched diamond cards $100 dinner credit. Then went to other casinos. Hard Rock matched the diamond card to their rock royalty level. Some perks, including free 2 night stay, if you book within 90 days of matching, and free monthly car wash, not huge. However, ocean matched the rock royalty to there Prime card. Free onetime admission for 2 to their equivalent of harrahs 7 star club ( nice buffet and open bar) free 2 night stay at Wynn Las Vegas and free MSC 7 night cruise with no fees or port charges once a year. All have free parking. Resorts will match, but only if you have 13 points to from play. ($130?).
