Change in bylaws at Vail-Streamside-Birch

We received a letter dated 12-31-2015 with notification of a special meeting to amend the bylaws. Without re-typing the whole letter here, it regards rules about unit owners serving on the board, conflict of interests, etc.

I intend to send an e-mail with lots of questions to the contact given, but I was curious as to WHY they seek to make the change.

Is anyone here privy to that information?

I think we would have to read the whole content of the letter and what the specific change to the by-laws is. Your description doesn't give us enough information about what the conflict of interest would be. Resorts do change their by-laws every once in a while for one reason or another. Does the change appear to be negative toward owners?
