Change biennial points to annual

I am not a current owner but I’m considering accepting a family transfer of 8000 biennial points but would prefer them to be annual points. Is there a way to convert biennial points to annual points or is there a significant advantage to leaving them as biennial? I feel like if I ask a BG employee they’ll just try to sell me additional annual points. Thanks.

I'm not sure about Bluegreen, but most timeshares are titled as real estate. As such, they can not be changed. Your only option would be to buy identical other year points resale. For instance, if your family's is Even-Year, buy Odd-Year. And you are correct, if you ask Bluegreen, they'll offer more annual points for more $$$.

You cannot convert the deed from biennial to annual points. Only way to make the change is buying more points from Bluegreen (or charter points from Pinnacle) where you trade in the deed (as long as it is a charter deed - the family transfer will not change the charter status) and then buy an annual deed. IMO the difference is not worth the cost of doing this. And depending how you vacation, you may like biennial points much better.
