Before I put in an on-going search with II, I thought that I would check with the experts here in all things Marriott to see what my chances are of grabbing a unit at the Village Dile-de-France in the middle of October.

I've often see this resort come up fairly last minute throughout the year, and I'm thinking that mid October is a lower demand time.

We will be going to Europe in that timeframe regardless, so it's not like I need to know to book flights or anything. I just didn't want to have an exchange fee locked up if there really was a very slim chance of making this trade.

thanks all for your input!

Very good chance, there's a Studio available now for 11 Oct via exchange, Its not available via getaways or the deposit accom cert, and I don't have a random AC to check. As long as you aren't looking to go 24 Oct to 2 Nov when its School vacation week in Europe, I'd recommend that you hold out for a getaway or accom cert, if your deposit has maint fees of more than $1,000.

You can put a request in the sightings forum and set up getaway alerts on the II App, but you'd need to check any accom certs manually.

October will be easy. It’s really just peak summer time that is a difficult trade.

I was able to get a 2-bedroom in late September last year using a studio deposit- and this was just in inventory not even an ongoing search.

October 2025 or 2026?

If you are looking to exchange place a request now and search your self a couple of times a day.

Thanks everyone! When I searched yesterday that studio wasn't there, but I see it now. We are booking our plane tickets shortly, and once that's done I'm going to put in an OGS and cross my fingers. And keep checking also. I'm using up a deposit that is going to expire in February anyway, so I consider that part a sunk cost.

This trip is to primarily visit some friends in Amsterdam, and where we go in addition to that isn't cast in stone. I just picked MVF because I often see last minute availability and I thought it would be a good base to explore the little villages outside of Paris. When we were in Paris a few years ago there wasn't enough time to do that so this might work well.

And in the time it took me to type this post, that studio unit has disappeared!

We went to MVF a few years back and though we did go into Paris a few days, we used it as you intend: visiting towns out of the city center, including Reims. It is perfect for that.

The Studio is really just a hotel room with a small kitchenette, its the lock-off section of a 3-bed unit. There is a laundry room on site that you can use as there isn't one in the studio units.
