I am a member of American Vacation Resorts, which is now operated by Celebrity Resorts. We recently received notice that our available weeks will be from a selection of RCI weeks within a program called "Experiences". Unfortunately, I am unable to obtain info about this program. A Celebrity rep told me to contact RCI for specifics. The toll free number provided is constantly busy - I'm never able to get through. It is not the main RCI number, though. I was also told that I cannot get info from RCI about the program without a Certificate Reference Number (which is essentially a confirmation number, or "go ahead" to use one of the member weeks). This sounds like it gets my foot in the door, but I can't get the number without first paying a special assessment. Essentially, I am trying to figure out if I should continue with the membership by paying the assessment or not.

So, what is this program. What weeks are available? And, where do they come from? Is there an exchange fee (I am led to believe this is a program not associated with normal weeks membership exchanges)? I just want to find out some info about the pool of weeks and how the program works before I decide on what to do with my membership. Thanks....

mbender10,

My information instructs members to call AVR at 1-800-888-1706 to inquire about depositing weeks.

The program you're referring to may be a trial program of some kind that the resort is offering. Please send an e-mail to feedback@rci.com with TUG in the subject line. Provide as many details as you can about the offer you received and the Communications Team can check on it for you.

Here is the reply I received from the RCI e-mail. Obviously, this reponse has nothing to do with this Experiences program. The number I was told to call is 800-385-4863. Any other suggestions on answers about this program?

Hello,

We are responding at the request of Madge.

American Vacation Resorts (AVR) deposits all vacation time for its
owners by transferring directly into the RCI accounts. Therefore, you
are unable to deposit your weeks online. Please contact your resort's
reservations staff at 1-800-888-1706 to request a deposit for an RCI
exchange.

We value your participation in our program.

Sincerely,

E-Communications
RCI - North America

mbender10,

I respond to posts in the order received, so when they are bumped up, they actually go to the end of the line. Sorry for the delay.

The Experiences program is a kind of trial program allowing prospective purchases to confirm surplus RCI availability. To check specific availability for RCI Experiences, call 800/654-7241 to speak with a Reservationist. This program is not supported online.

Thank you. That is a different number than what Celebrit/AVR provided. Your brief description of the program is also more than what I have been able to obtain from anyone else too. I will try the number.
