This article skips over the fact that at this time only people vaccinated in the Caymans or UK are eligible. Since there is no central, government endorsed data base for US tourists they have a great fear of people coming in with fake vaccination cards.

Hoping they can come up with a working system so US vaccinated people can visit.

Lack of US-wide vaccination certificates a barrier for travel

Premier Wayne Panton says the US federal government's unwillingness to create a country-wide verifiable COVID vaccination system is continuing to be a barrier to allowing people vaccinated there to avail of Cayman's five-day quarantine period.

So true. I have been following news from Cayman for months, hoping to still be able to use our week in December. There may be a few states that will have a digital and secure verification of vaccination that Cayman will eventually accept, but mine will not be one of them. We decided this week to deposit our unit, and wait until later in 2022 to visit.

I have already deferred my 2021 weeks until at least 2023 but have Feb/March 2022 booked. We are planning to go even if we have to quarantine. But not for everyone has the luxury of a long stay. I hope they work this out soon.
