*Their game seems to be to offer bogus rentals to people with Wish Ads in the TUG Marketplace.

just another friendly reminder to always always always verify 100% any resale or rental before sending money.

The red flags are nearly always present in a scammer, but are often overlooked or ignored due to the potential savings of the offer (which in itself is potentially a red flag).

You can protect yourself from these scams if you follow the simple rules laid out in the link above (or here http://tug2.net/timeshare_advice/timeshare_rental_verification.html ).

there should be no exceptions unless you want to run the risk of being scammed!

we have had a project in the works for awahile, but ive bumped it up to the front of the list in hopes to add another layer of protection for owners.

We will begin indicating the length of time an ad poster has been a member of TUG on each and every ad. Hopefully this will add an extra level of trust (or caution) when you can see just how long a person has been a TUG member and is posting an ad.

Many members remain TUG members for years, and should certainly reap the rewards of having a long established membership. Now this is not to say renting from anyone should immediately absolve you from doing your due diligence in verifying any rental before sending money, we just hope this adds an extra benefit to both rentees and renters!

I will let you guys know when this goes live so you can take a look at it.

That's a great idea. I personally feel better about doing business with someone who has been around for a while.

sadly we dont have an easy way to link memberships prior to 2006 when the new login system went online...so anyone who joined in 2006 or prior will simply have that listed.
