Carriage Place Owners-how's the trade value?

Hi! I'm waiting for the closing paperwork for our 3 BR lockoff unit at the carriage place and wanted to see how other owners have done with exchanges.

Any info you could give would be really helpful! I'm hopeing to use in las vegas and/or St. Thomas in the virgin islands.

Any trade info, 1 2 or 3 bedroom exchange history would be great!

In general summer months, especially July, seem to do pretty well for Branson. I know that Vegas isn't a hard exchange but I'm thinking the Caribbean could be a little tougher. Branson trades surprisingly well through I.I. I say surprised because I can always pick up a 5 star unit for very little in exchange almost any time of the year.

I'm assuming (hoping) you purchased resale at this resort.

This time I will answer it this way.

Use common sense and logic when wondering about exchange possibilities. Pretend it is a direct exchange and ask yourself, "Would someone else give up that for this?"

I bought resale

I purchased the unit for $720 plus closing, which I don't think is too bad for a 3 BR red/float/lockoff. (I hope so anyway!!!)

I figure if I split it into a 2 br and a 1 br for 08, even if it takes the 2 BR to trade for a studio in the islands thats fine, who stays in the room anyway!

Like I said elsewhere, keep us posted.

There are several possibilities.

The entire unit may get you a truly great exchange, like you are wanting. The entire unit may get you an average or below-average exchange.

Splitting it may get you a great exchange plus a lesser exchange, a moderate exchange plus a lesser exchange, or two below-average exchanges.

I don't know if this is a combination or a permutation, as I never could distinguish between the two on word problems.
