At Carlsbad Seapointe Resort, one bedrooms have three sizes, B, C, D. How can you tell from RCI exchange, which one bedroom size is it?

I called the resort and they said it is an information RCI/exchange would have. What area of the exchange should one look for bedroom size information?

Thanks a lot!!!

We were at Seapointe last month on an RCI exchange and I can tell you that it's academic to know which units are which. As advised by others we called ahead several times to request a better and bigger unit, arrived at a half empty resort, and were assigned a unit in a back building with a view of the rear of the unit in front. When I asked for a better room I was told to go across the lobby and speak to Debbie the "concierge" and she "might" be able to help me. Of course she could  All it took was signing up for a tour of their new Mar Brisas Resort. We did and got an upgrade to a larger third floor unit with a fantastic view of the ocean along with a $75 gift card for dinner at a nice restaurant.

From when we entered the parking lot, watched the obligatory rah rah :cheer: movie, met with a sales rep, got our gift certificate and exited the parking lot was one hour exactly. Of course it helped that I immediately told the rep she was wasting her time because I knew from TUG that I could buy on the aftermarket for 10% and there was no way I was buying from her.

Thanks a lot for the heads up!

Did you check in and go to your unit first and then went back to ask for a better unit? What's good unit number? Did you end up with a B or C size?

Looking at the resort map, seems one type has the bedroom at the back side facing the railway track and the other type has both the bedroom and the living room facing the ocean.

I also saw review saying that the 3rd floor has some window openings higher up without window covering. This could be a problem for light sleepers. How's your unit? Did they add window covering after the upgrade?

Thanks a lot!

To answer your questions:

We checked in, went across to Debbie, made the tour appointment and changed the room right then. She yelled across to the girl who checked us in and told her what room she had given us and we then went back over and had her redo the key cards. I don't remember what letter it was but it was the largest and best 1 BR class.

I believe that all of the 1 BR units have the living room in front and the bedroom in back. We were in a unit that overlooked the tracks out the back, rather than the front of the rear building. but didn't find the occasional train to be a problem. The 2BR ones looked like one of the bedrooms faced the front and the other the rear.

The third floor units have a lofted ceiling in the living room and the windows in the upper portion weren't covered with drapes so if you are looking to use the hide-a-bed for sleeping it might be a bit of a problem. However since they face west it's not an early morning sun beating in. We're from the midwest so due to the two hour time difference and the fact that we are early risers we were having morning coffee in a pitch dark room watching the faint light spread over the water. :)
