I am going to Maui very soon, and have been wrestling with finding good car rentals. Today I noticed that Priceline had great rates for Maui without even bidding. Economy car for about $11./day plus the taxes and add-ons.

I'm looking at Priceline now for our trip to Maui in February, and everything is about $24/day +

We booked a convertible for mid-January for $179/wk. It was a special on the Alamo website. I think it is fun to have a convertible on vacation when its just the two of us.

Deb, thanks for this tip. I just did the same for our February trip. I wasn't seeing any real bargains elsewhere up to this point, so this deal on a convertible looks very good. It only shows up if you click on the link for Hawaii specials. A general online search does not pull up this rate, so I wouldn't have found it without your advice. :whoopie:
