Car rental, Kailua-Kona, June

Wow! We're going to Kona June 2-28, and I've had Autoslash working on this for months. It started out at $1798 and it's still above $1200 for a compact, all in. The taxes and fees at airport locations are over 30%! I don't recall this from the last visit.

Does anyone have any hints for a place that maybe does monthly rentals? And off-airport, of course.

June 2 is a Sunday, and that prevents a lot of non-national places (and even Enterprise) from showing up. But even changing this to June 3 isn't getting me much.

Someone else made that inquiry on April 1 and hasn't had an answer. No local businesses listed for car rental.

Oh - just tried https://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/ , don't know why I didn't think of that before. $919 for 26 days, two additional drivers, pay at pickup. I'm aiming for $750 if possible.

Dave, if you go to DiscountHawaiiCarRental.com right now, they show a Standard for those dates for $920.

I know it doesn’t help much but Costco has your dates with a compact at $1,031 and a full size at $1,049 at Alamo. That is close to four weeks so it’s it too bad. I have noticed my Hawaii car rentals have been higher the last three years.

I noticed in the last week a car rental I have reserved for Maui for mid-May has been going down in price so you may want to check as time gets closer.

920 seems reasonable, all in, for 4 weeks.

Sounds like a good price to me as well. We've often paid between $600 - $800 for two weeks.
