We have bought into Capital Vacations and now they want us to come to Branson to learn how to use the points. What can I expect? How do these things go? Any tips would be helpful

You don't need to do this. Join some Facebook groups about them. Read up on TUG. The only purpose of you going to see them is for them to try and sell you more. Westgate does the same thing. It's all garbage to try and sell you more. They aren't there to teach you how to use the program. The more confused you are, the better it is for them.

It is not just Westgate or Capital Vacations that do that. They all try to rope in newbies within 3-6 months so they can sell them more.
Don't go! Stick around here and learn how to use what you have.

You should have found TUG before you bought Capital Vacations.

The resort in Branson is nice. Enjoy it and don't buy more points because they will be pushing you in that direction.

Hi, RickandCindy23, thanks for your often helpful responses on this forum.
I, too, have just purchased CV points and am getting ready to go to my NOW "New Owners Workshop" with Capital (but in Orlando). We now know what to expect, thanks to TUG, and am steeling ourselves in preparation!
We acquired because we were told our points could be used for cruises; our only reason to purchase. Three phone calls to CV, and this site, have given me serious doubt that I can parlay points for cruises, but that will be our primary research at the NOW meeting.
Anyone have any related experience with CV for cruises?
