Can't post photos

All of a sudden I can't post photos anywhere. To be more specific, I can't "choose" photos to upload. I've tried Fred Miranda, flickr, and facebook. When I click on the button to upload photos there is no popup window showing the files that I can upload. I haven't made any changes since I posted photos on Fred Miranda two days ago.

I'm on a pc running 64 bit win7 with updates up to date.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated ~ Ron

Edit to add that I've been having a few glitches with my wireless trackball, so I switched to a regular mouse and that did not help.

Another edit - I can't attach a photo to an email using the "attachment" button either.

fixed

I continued to try things, and finally remembered to try rebooting - that worked, but I am wondering if I should consider replacing this 10 yo machine as little "things" are starting to happen more often ~ Ron

Good chance that a 10 year old machine has a bunch of excess 'stuff' cluttering up the hard drive (old and duplicate files) unless you are a lot better than I am at housekeeping. The operating system is likely not the freshest. As you mention, you swapped out the pointing device to try isolating this current glitch. Then again, new ones aren't immune from their own issues. I guess it just depends on whether you want to reboot an old computer or a new one when the inevitable snags pop up. Fwiw, Windows 10 is a big improvement over it's predecessors. (if you are a PC user)

How old is the hard drive on that computer? If it's more than a few years old, chances are it's nearing the end of its use life. I'd suggest making sure you have a good backup (to other media than that same hard disk) of any data files you'd want to have access to should that disk go down on you.
