Last Thanksgiving one of our guests brought us a whole spiral smoked ham. We told him we already have plenty of food and to take it home. In the meantime, I placed it outside to stay cool. The next morning the ham was still here so I texted him. He said he didn't want it.
After calling the kids and them not wanting to deal with such a big ham I decided to can it. I used pint jars. We were very busy during the Holidays and had trips planned for NYE so the canned ham just sat in the pantry....... UNTIL..... just now. It really turned out great. Canning the ham reduced the amount of fat in the already lean meat. It taste so good. We aren't pork eaters for the most part but this canned ham is something I would eat.
I thought I might need some recipes but ham sandwich and ham with eggs are plenty.
