I have a week that we are due to occupy at [one of my timeshares] in April this year. Clearly it was a 2012 week, and I made the reservation last year.

It now appears that I may need to cancel. If this is the case, and as we are after the December 31st cut-off for converting the week to MRP, what would happen to my week should I cancel?

Thanks guys.

Can you change the reservations dates to something later in the year that is still a good week? You could then deposit it in II and have up to two years after the checkin date to book an exchange with II.

Otherwise, you can give it away or try to rent it.

It's clear you won't be able to get MRP's now for your 2012, however you still can deposit it into Interval International and have a few years to make a trade.

Another option would be to rent your week.

In the same boat

I have a similar dilemma. Have the last week in March reserved in Hilton Head (highest TDI for my season). Due to a renovation project, I don't think we'll be able to get away. The only other time we can go is either Thanksgiving or New Year's week, but neither are available right now to change to.

I know I can deposit with II up to 60 days prior to arrival without being restricted to flexchange, but how badly does II devalue your week if it's deposited just outside 60 days?

The best thing to do would be to change the reservation to one farther out if you want to deposit. Even if it isn't Thanksgiving or a super high demand week. II places a lot of value in how far out you deposit.
