I have an exchange for a 2BR in FLorida that I used a Shadow Ridge Lock off to obtain. I booked even though it was 1 day later than our FF tickets get us there, but it was the only 2 BR available. Now a 2 BR is available on the date that we actually arrive. Looks like I could get it with my DSV Silver week Lock off (Shadow Ridge LO was Plat.) To ge to the point, I called II and asked what happens if I cancel the orginal exchange. TH\hey said I have 1 year from the date booked to effect another exchange and have to pay another exchange fee. Kind of what I thought other than the 1 year limit. Here is the confusing part, I asked what I would actually be exchanging with in the future, my DSV Lock Off or a Orlando 2 BR. They said I would be trading a 2BR unit. Even had hime check with the supervisor. Does this seem right? I could make a ongoing request for a 2BR even though I only used a LO to get it in the first place? Somehow I don't think that is right.

Tempted to just pay another exchange fee and grap the unit I want for the right day. I can't book the DSV Silver LO until Wednesday and I am afraid the unitin Florida will be gone. Also would a 2 BR Royal Palm in January get be 1 BR on Ko Oilna in the summer, if that is really true what my trade power would be?

If anyone has experience with this I would like know how it worked for you.

It has always been my understanding that when you cancel an exchange with II you get the original week back (or a replacement week with the same trading power as your original week) and can make another exchange for 1 year from the date of cancellation.

If I were you I'd cancel the exchange and pay another exchange fee to get the unit that matches your FF airline tickets. Why mess around waiting a couple of days and risk losing the unit you want?

You can cancel an successful exchange within 24 hrs of the exchanging being made - and without penalty.

If the cancellation takes place after 24 hrs, but before the 60 day flexchange period, then you lose the exhange fee, and you need to pay for a fee for second exchange.

One can not cancel a successful week, if the latter is less than 60 days out (ie the period of the flexchange).
