We had a reservation to go to Phuket this weekend at marriot (I am an owner there). My mom has fallen ill and I may not be able to go. Do i have any options or will i lose my week since it's less than 60 days which is the usual cancellation window.

Deposit the week in II. You can exchange for any week that is in the flexchange window.

I've just bought this timeshare on resale... what bad luck.

You may not be able to deposit in to II either. Someone else can confirm, but I think at some point II won't accept the deposit either (may be at 14 days prior to first day of stay). This is why Marriott and II both sell travel insurance when booking or exchanging through them.

True stmt.
Sonali, what is your checkin date. In the original post you mentioned less than 60 days.

The OP menitioned "this weekend" so I would think it is within 7 days.

You cant deposit a unit with II if the checkin date in within 14 days.

If you own the week, you can try renting it on

TUG's last minute rental board. You never know, someone already there might be interested in extending their stay. You'd get max. $700. for the week.
