Just got off the phone with owner care. Tried to convert some leftover points to maintenance. (yes I know it is a poor conversion, but I had no use for them before Dec 31st and already way to much banked in RCI to want to add to). However, since the points were originally cancelled points from before August, even though they show as regular online, they retain the limitations of cancelled points. Which means the last reservation I booked (nov res booked in Sept) used all my regular regular points first and then my regular cancelled points. Not sure how I could have avoided that. I ended up with Owner care for a different matter (some additional points I was trying to convert were recovery points given to me at Natl Harbor due to problems with my room), so may try a VC tomorrow.

Keep us updated.

I guess only RCI is left.

Got online this am. My recovery points had been moved to 2016 (show up as credit pool with 2016 expiration)as promised leaving only the original regular cancelled points. Called in. Got a very nice VC named Tenisia who processed my request without any problem or mention that the points were not normal regular points. Converted the leftover points to Maint and should receive confirmation in the mail. Conclusion. Owner care sees much more on their screen and the limitation is not automatic, but was a written rule. The first day the system would not let the VC process the "recovery points"
