Canceling Wyndham CWA

You can also buy alot of clams for under $21 dollars all in. Without a commitment or burden of paying maintenance fees. I can also verify renting is cheaper vs owning without being locked into one system .


I have to reply because you half addressed a pet peeve of mine. In your posts (like above) you frequently use the phrase "burden of paying maintenance fees".

As a Wyndham owner, I completely reject that characterization . My maintenance fees get me lodging every year in very nice condominium type apartments in very nice locations for less than the cost of a Holiday Inn or comparable facility. The "burden of my maintenance fees" is the same thing as your "burden of annual rental fees".

I've read your posts here for a long time and you do have a good knowledge of the subjects you discuss. You do share your insight, which makes you a valuable contributor. You're a bit of an "instigator", but I enjoy that. You have knowledge of your subject, and you make a lot of sense sometimes.

My gripe with you is one word, which you have used so many times in your past posts, "burden". In the post above you used the phrase "commitment or burden". I had not noticed that before. If you always referred to the "commitment of maintenance fees" and not the "burden of maintenance fees", I would have no quarrel with you.

Or "responsibility of maintenance fees." There are a lot of options to unload one's ownership if it's no longer working for you (especially if one is connected to the resources and knowledge of the TUG community), so it's not an insurmountable burden.

I don't see it as a "burden" but someone who is struggling to make ends meet might see it as a burden. It's a matter of perspective and to him, it's a burden. Maybe because his income is not stable because he's self-employed or a contractor of some sort. Maybe sometimes paying maintenance fees is a burden to him if he is strapped for cash. I do take issue with the word "burden" as well though because it doesn't apply to everyone. Commitment is a better word because it is a "commitment" for everyone. It's not a "burden" to everyone.

Hi All,
Need some help. I signed a contract in South Carolina on 09/02. After coming back from vacation and reading all the documents in detail and also joining this forum, I want to cancel my contract. Sunday USPS is closed and Monday is Labor Day holiday. SC rule is 5 days ( not sure if it is 5 business days and excludes national holidays). If I post the rescission letter on Tuesday in certified mail, do you guys think I am good within the 5 days rule?

I’m in the same boat. Signed on a Sunday which does not count in SC. Monday was Labor Day, USPS locations nearby closed Sat and Sunday mailed certified the following Monday. Wyndham denied rescission. I called and was told to submit an email, the rep argued that Labor Day they are open so it counts. My position is the USPS is closed and can’t mail on a federal holiday. I was still in SC and returning home nearby Post offices were closed and I mailed Monday. Waiting a response. We’re you successful?

South Carolina counts calendar days, not business days, though Sunday does not count if it is the fifth day.


If you signed on Sunday, and mailed the following Tuesday, you are within the period. So something else doesn't add up.

you may be conflating business with calendar day’s. Unfortunately, it appears you may be legally late. We had two similar reports: one who rescinded one day late, and another who sent to the sales instead of the rescission address.

please let us know how your situation resolves.
