Canadian timeshare owners

Too early to tell. An owner filmed the recent AGM, just haven’t had a chance to look. Short term nothing I think.
Do you know if there is someplace I can go to for more info about changes to Vacation Village Resorts. Also, I am thinking of booking my home resort/home week at Grandview, but it shows I have to pay RCI exchange fee.
Does anyone know more?

So far there really is not any changes beyond reported shortages of inventory in the discount times (7500 Pts or the Last Call Weeks). I believe to book your home week you need to call Vacation Village.

I stayed at Pinnacle Lodge in Sun Peaks, BC a few years ago. We were there during shoulder season in late spring, so the lifts up the mountain weren't open yet for summer, and a number of the shops/restaurants in town weren't open either. But it was still worth it just to walk around town, take a hike to a waterfall, and just get into nature for a while. There's also a golf course if you're into that, which is open earlier than summer season opens.
It is NOT a fancy resort by any means... It's very small... but it's also really quiet (at least during shoulder season it was), which I loved. It does have pretty high fees. ($19/day/person for breakfast. It used to be breakfast and High Tea, but they recently removed the high tea, but didn't change the fee price. And I think there's a housekeeping fee as well, of $75 per stay. Plus parking fee of $11... plus tax on all of them.) They will also be doing renos on the carpet in one of the buildings this year. The rooms are also really small, with no kitchen, because they're a Bed & Breakfast style resort. They're all studios, that either sleep 2, 3, or 4, so it's snug, but there's a fireplace and a balcony with amazing views!
Sorry I'm a bit late to the game but I also love this resort. We actually got a TUGGER to book 2 rooms for us this March so we could go with friends. Both of the buildings provide spaces for people or groups to hang out not in their rooms. We were in the lower building without the breakfast area and almost always had the lounge area to ourselves. My husband who is a VERY early riser would get up and head down to have coffee and not wake me. It's just too bad that I am not skiing anymore but I did enjoy snowshoeing this year. Bonus was the resort provides them for free.

I did want to mention that you do not pay for parking if you park outside. Richard the manager said some don't pay for parking but do for the last night so they can pack their vehicle and leave from the garage in the morning, so he is flexible if you only want a few nights. We feel the breakfast charge is worth it for the convenience and the variety provided. There are also some BC taxes but there are taxes on many timeshare locations these days.

I'm looking for a week next Winter/very early Spring at Banff Rocky Mountain Resort. I have a exchange request in through a company that has come through for me before
The Feb week is offseason as it's after the Feb holiday week. The March dates you're looking for is spring break for many places so that one will be harder to get. If you're not stuck on having to stay at the BRM, Canmore is definitely should be a consideration for you. It's only 10 mins east of Banff townsite. You can pick up the Feb dates quite easily as an extra vacation on RCI or 7 Across for less than $500 USD for a 1BR. If you have access to II, you can pick up an exchange into a 2BR at the Sunset or Paradise Resorts. There's a 1BR currently available at the Worldmark Canmore for the March dates for as an extra vacation for about the $500. You're better off doing it that way from a cost standpoint. We stay at the WM lots and own at the BRM and actually prefer the WM but we're "local"

@djyamyam Thanks for the Canmore suggestions, but I think my wife would prefer to be a short shuttle from Banff, especially if we go in Feb. when she would arrive a day+ ahead of me. Google maps says it's a 27 min/33 km drive (they backtrack a bit to avoid going through Canmore) from Worldmark Canmore to downtown Banff.

How much of Canada is on Spring break the week beginning March 22? A group I ski with is planning to be there then.

I'd say most of them are before that week but since it can vary by school board, the week of March 22nd can have some locations off at that time. The first 3 weeks of March are the ones that are generally busiest. Unless Easter falls in late March. Lucky for you, it's the week of April 5th in 2026...Quebec is usually at the beginning of March, Ontario, second or third week.

It isn't that all of Canada takes spring break then, it's that Calgary (the largish city where you can ski Banff for the day and sleep in your own bed at night) is on spring break then. Many of us (and people here disproportionately ski) will take our kids for a day or two that week.

Edmonton (the next nearest largish city) has theirs the next week this year (and it's normally the same) so that will help a bit.

If that's when you can go I'd still go, but if you have flexibility the week prior will be a lot less busy. Basically, people from the rest of Canada don't ski here in sufficient numbers to move the needle on crowds, so their spring break doesn't matter to this decision.

100% agree

We have been to Lagunamar twice. We will go back again for sure.

Aruba is on our list, but the the travel cost is noteworthy. We are booked for our first trip to Marriott St Kitts in November. We will grin and bear the cost of flights. We only have one week booked so far, but I have a search for a second consecutive week.

We are thinking Marriott Marabella in Spain for spring 2026.

I and our adult daughters are avid skiers. I did: a week in Dec/24 in Breckenridge, CO; 2 weeks in Jan/25 in Beaver Creek, CO; and we are just back from a March 25 week in Whistler. I prefer the skiing in Colorado and Utah owing mainly to the quality of the snow. I am now planning my 25/26 winter. We will be skiing in Canada only. I would consider Europe, but they don't get much snow anymore and not a lot of ski resort timeshares in Europe.

Fernie, BC? I have an OGS in II for Fernie for next winter. Anyone know how hard or easy is is to get a II trade into Fernie in ski season?
I live in Calgary... own two timeshares... but amazing skiing in our Rocky Mountains... I love march... more snow...warm weather... TOP ski resorts: sunshine, lake louise close... golden (if lift repaired) , fernie and panorama 1 1/2 to 3 hours away. and lots of smaller resorts nakiska, Norquay close to banff... I drive from Calgary. lots of timeshare in Canmore and Banff... Whistler can be great but super pricey, busy and costly...

Curious to see how many timeshare owners , where are you from and where do you own?
Do you feel that you get a good value out of your purchase being canadian?

Thanks, Looking forward to your answers
considering dropping RCI.. FEES are getting ridiculous!!
