It's been ages since I've posted on TUG since I only have one timeshare. I'm trying to help someone get out of their timeshare. She says she owns at Sheraton Vacation Club Orlando/Marriott Abound. She gets 10,000 points if she converts to club points. Does this have any value on the resale market? Is it something Marriott would buy/take back? If not, would someone take it for free? I'm not at all familiar with this program as you can tell. I'd appreciate any advice I can pass on to her. Thanks.

What's the ownership for, exactly?

Sheraton Flex - zero resale value, difficult to give away.

Sheraton Vistana Villages deeded weeks - depends on phase/season/size. Most have zero value, but some weeks in prime season at Key West or Bella phases come with StarOptions that transfer on resale - those have some value, a couple of thousands on resale.

Nice of you to help her.
Does she own a week at Vistana Resort or village?
If so what season?
Once you know what she owns have a look at redweek and see what others are selling for.
She could give it away for free here on Tug or elsewhere (have the buyer pay the closing cost)- better to give it to someone else who can enjoy it than giving it back to Marriott and some report Marriott charges to take them back. Not sure if Sheratons are subject to ROFR.

The confusing part of your post for me is an enrolled week would not convert to 10,000 Abound points so that might be the Sheraton point product.
But if a week is owned that is what would be sold.

The ability to trade for Abound Points is lost in resale.
The only value is if it is a Mandatory resort where StarOptions transfer with resale.
That is ( as someone stated) Sheraton Vistana Villages ( not Resort) Bella or Key West.

A Prime Platinum 2BR non lock off unit gets 81K StarOptions and 2850ish Abound Points
A High Gold Plus 2BR non lock off gets 67.1K StarOptions and 2350ish Abound Points.
Even though Abound doesn’t transfer I added the number to see if that identity what she owns. If she is saying 10K Abound it is likely Sheraton Flex.

Any other Orlando ownership or Sheraton Flex can only be used at their home resorts or exchanged with II/RCI.
Really no value.

Marriott now charges $400 to give back a deed.
If they give it away on TUG closings by LT Transfer is about $350

Thanks for the replies. I gave her the info. She didn't answer which phase she owns in.
