Can you redeem resort credit for II stay?

[Deleted.] I looked at a couple resorts and don't see anything that says Resort Credits can only be attached to reservations booked using Abound Points. The first step is to contact Owner Services to attach them to a specific reservation, and it seems worth a try to attach to an II stay. Good luck, and let us know how you make out!

[ETA] I can't get the link to work. Sign in to your owners.marriottvacationclub.com account, scroll down and click on "Owner Benefits & Offers" on the right, click on "VIEW BENEFITS" under your ownership level, scroll down and click on "Resort Credit" in the "TRAVEL PLANNING" chart for the list of participating resorts.

For an II stay? Are you sure?
I stand corrected..not all MVC Resorts accept a Resort Credit Voucher…I have used a resort credit at BeachPlace Towers II reservation as well as the Aruba Ocean Club II reservation.

No, you can't use Resort Credits at every resort but the page you land on if you follow the tree in Post #4 above shows 47 where you can use them. The question in this thread is whether they can be used during an II stay at any of those 47 and I agree with you that yes, they can be. Using them requires an initial phone call with Owner Services so in any event you'll find out quickly if the answer is actually no.

When you call Owner Services, would they even have visibility to an II resy. If not, what are they attaching the resort credit to?

Hmmmm. It's been a long time since I've had an II stay ... wouldn't Owner Services be able to see it if you provide the Marriott reservation number?

I am wondering if I can redeem Abound points as resort credit to a participating Marriott resort stay?

Thanks!
Not exactly what you are asking, but I was able to use resort credits on a week I booked via redweek at Barony (HHI) in 2022.
I was able to arrange it through chat, just giving my reservation number. I did tell them it was from redweek.
I would certainly give it a try with your II exchange.

If they could do it for a Redweek rented stay, then it seems like they could for an II stay.

Used this at MKO when I had holding points.

We used resort credit at MOC on an II exchange. This was over 10 years ago, but I don't see anything that has changed. MVC generally treats any reservation at an MVC TS as no different than an owner reservation.

How did you make your MKO reservation?
Question is can you use them on an II exchange reservation.
99% of my stays at MKO were exchanges. Probably 600+ weeks staying there.

Great question and answers, something I've not thought of before, so good to know its a possibility. 🙏

When you call MVC or use Chat the advisor can see the II reservation that has the confirmation # attached…you can use a resort credit at any Marriot property listed on the MVC website…I will be getting a resort credit for our Abound points trip to Crystal Shores in October…I have holding points I need to use…the credit will partially cover the beach loungers and umbrella rental.

gln60 I was asking frank808 how he booked MKO to see if it was an II reservation so it would answer OP’s question.

Also Everyone- I went back to my MVC chat in 2022 and the agent at that time told me as long as I had a reservation at the resort it didn’t matter how it was booked they could arrange resort credits for me.
We had a reservation at Crystal Shores for right after the hurricane with points that would expire 2 months later. Couldn’t find a points reservation for the only week we could travel so we rented HHI from redweek and used the points for shop and dine.

I just called MVCI and they said that I can attach resort credits to a Interval International Exchange, but I could not to a Bonvoy reservation that I have. Both are at Aruba Surf Club.

This contradicts what I was told.
I would suggest everyone use chat to arrange the resort credit to whatever reservation they have.
Things may have changed, or the wrong info was given to one of us.
