Can you get Presidential Reserve resell?

I went to a presentation and the presenter said presidential reserve is automatic for just 1.4 million points . I thought Presidential reserve points were distinct and separate from other Club Wyndam points. Owners guide is confusing. Can you purchase Presidential Points resale and how would that work supposedly founders status is automatic with Presidential Reserve? I'm confused and I know Wyndham is.

Thanks,
Daniel

found it on the bottom of 306 of the directory Presidential reserve doesn't transfer. Boo

Presidential Reserve does transfer with its associated booking benefits and perks. Resale Presidential Reserve doesn’t confer VIP status.

This is something I'm doing comparative shopping for regarding perks for resale between the "big 3" of Hilton, Marriott and Wyndham.

There is another lengthy thread already this month.

The one question I have is, is the 12-10 month booking window for PR resorts other than the one you own available to resale?

See post #3.
I saw that but it seems to contradict what the OP read from page 306 (really 304) of the directory.

So it seems there are two tiers of some kind of ineligibility.
  • Owning < 1,000,000 CWP points
  • Points not purchased direct from Wyndham

The directory seems to spell out the limitations if you own < 1,000,000 points but doesn't seem to say what Presidential Reserve benefits are limited if you own points not purchased from Wyndham. Do we even have any pure resale PR owners here with more than 1,000,000 points that can answer the question definitively?

It seems you missed the word "full" in your interpretation of what you quoted. There are deeded rights to Presidential Reserve units that transfer with the deed. (see post #3)

VIP benefits associated with PR level of ownership do not transfer; except to certain, direct family members.

So what are those benefits you speak of? Do you own PR? Deeded rights only grant you access to your home resort, no? You keep saying to see post #3, but it provides zero context or references.

I also understand that there is a difference between VIP benefits and PR benefits.

This is the extent of resale PR ownership rights, beyond the points ownership, which post #3 was likely referencing (from page 303 of the directory).

I can't remember the user, but there is at least one resale PR owner in this forum who I recall confirming that "full" in the context of resale PR owners means that they don't get VIP status (understandably), but do receive essentially all of the PR booking benefits. The only real dropoff in benefits is less than a million points owned.

I didn't even know you could buy PR resale, I thought Wyndham had and did exercise ROFR on these, but i'm obviosly wrong.

Not that i'm in the market for any more points, but i'm curious to know if resale PR owners, with less than 1 mil points get free parking at Avon.

I also wonder how one differentiates PR resale and regular Club Wyndham Resale in the booking process. Is there a third drop down option for PR Resale? I guess the same thing goes for mixed PR and regular CW owners? Are PR points somehow differentiated?

I get the impression that there probably aren't that many smaller PR contracts floating around out there in general, and probably even rarer on the resale market, but I wonder if this would be one of those things you could have a small PR inventory and get free parking at Avon, even if you use regular points to book.

This seems clearer according to the language in the directory, and the answer is no. The book on Page 304-05 is very specific that PR owners of less than a million only get home resort booking from 14 to 12 months, and don't get anything else. Now, does that mean that a particular resort or even an individual staff member at a particular resort won't offer something to such a PR owner that isn't officially codified? It's possible. But on paper, the answer is no.

This assessment is correct.

Will it still be reserved or a presidential suite no reserve?

I think it becomes a pr3side suite. But no reserve.

Yes you can buy PR on the resale market. VIP status does not apply but all of the other Presidential Reserve benefits do with the exception of The Registry Collection (which is a super high priced exchange system in RCI.)

Most resellers have NO idea what Presidential Reserve is. And most resale listings that are PR are not notated as such. So if you see a contract at a PR resort and it has 1 million points or more, maybe you can tell by the maintenance fee cost as PR is higher. Maybe you can ask them but there are still odds that they have no idea. The term is "DESIGNATED" points. Those are points in the PR system.

So in the end, PR will be resale. If you have developer, those remain in their own developer bucket. Having VIP and owning a PR resale contract gives some super sweet perks on your developer side.

Thank you for your input! Could you delve a bit deeper into your experience? Being a VIP Platinum member and having recently acquired a Presidential Reserve resale contract. What super sweet perks do I have to look forward to. Could you share what exciting benefits I might expect from these statuses?

I have a mix of developer and resale points. I have a resale presidential reserve contract. I have to book with my resale points to get the PR booking benefits i.e. 12-14 months out. It did not have to be my home resort to do so.
