Can you deposit a "Guest Certificate" week from II?

I'm getting a guest certificate for a week at Manor Club this summer. Since I'm also a member of II, can I deposit and exchange this Manor Club week? How long do I have to exchange this week once I deposit it?

Thank for your help!

Best wishes,
Dave

I'm guessing you mean an Accommodation Certificate ("AC"), rather than a Guest Certificate. A Guest Certificate is something you purchase from II for $39 that allows someone else to use a week that you exchanged through II.

See the above link for an explanation of how an AC works. Essentially, the AC allows you to purchase a week from part of II's inventory of available weeks for an additional week of vacation. For the most part, the weeks you can purchase are off-season weeks.

The only weeks that you can deposit with II to request an exchange are weeks that you own. Thus, if you reserve your own Manor week with Marriott, you can deposit that week with II and will have until two years after the Manor week dates to make and occupy an exchange.

Maybe the OP can clarify, but I read his post to mean he was getting a week with a guest certificate from someone else. I believe Dave M's answer would apply in any event.

Yes, I'm getting a GUEST certificate from someone else!

Yes, I'm getting a GUEST certificate from a week exchanged by someone else! I imagine Dave M's answer does apply in my case.

Best wishes,

Correct. All that Guest Certificate allows you to do is to check into the resort for the week covered by the GC instead of having the original exchanger check in. You have no other rights to that week.
