Can you associate a trade from II at DVC to your DVC account?

I just traded for a 2bd at OKW for spring break. I was planning on one of the MVC resorts since we planned to check out the new Epic Universe, but we have never stayed at OKW so thought we would check it out. We traded an existing MVC studio at MGC for the week at OKW. We have been DVC members for a long time. Is it possible to associate this reservation with my DVC account? If so, how? Do I need to call in? Also, the II email provides an exchange confirmation number, but where it normally provides the reservation number for the resort the number is simply "0".

Yes, you want to call DVC member services so they can add all the guests who are staying in the room to the reservation so you can go through My Disney Experience to associate it to everyone. This allows you to make dining reservations based on the reservation and anything else that might apply.

Here is what you need to do when calling.
With a DVC Exchange Confirmation;
  • Call - 800-800-9800
  • Phone Menu Options - 1, 4,1,#,#
  • You will be prompted to enter your phone number and last 4 of your SSN. If you aren't a DVC member also, it will not match up to anything, that doesn't matter. You will be connected to a representative who can help you.
  • Tell the rep you are an "Interval International Inbound Guest" and that you need to know the confirmation number for your exchange reservation so you can add it to My Disney Experience. The representative will put you on hold. Plan for this process to take about 20 minutes.
  • Once they have the confirmation number, also ask them to add all guests to the reservation. The reservation must list all guests so it can be associated with guests in My Disney Experience.
  • Once you have the confirmation number added to My Disney Experience, you can then make Park Pass, dining and other reservations when they become available.

Thanks. I have an Exchange Confirmation Number. There is also the typical resort Reservation Number; but in this case it shows "Reservation Number 0". I just booked this an hour ago so maybe it take time to generate a Reservation Number? Or, do I need to call II to have one sent to me?

Update: Called Interval and the person I spoke to said that all the current DVC reservations in II are showing a "0" for the reservation number, and that they "should" be updated once a reservation number is assigned.

You probably have to call DVC Member Services. Give it a week or two to transfer over from II and then call. They should be able to look it up for you given resort, unit type, check in date, and last name.

The Exchange Confirmation Number is an internal II number. It means nothing to DVC. I am not aware that DVC sends the reservation number back to II. II can't provide you with a reservation number. As far as I know, II only provides reservation numbers for Marriott reservations. I haven't seen it on any other confirmations from II in the past, though I suppose it is possible.

When you call DVC, they will have to find your reservation. Usually based on your name, resort and checkin date. It can sometimes take them a while to do this as they need to often get with another department to find it.

Use DVC’s online chat to easily locate the reservation number for your DVC exchange and add it to your Disney App. No calls needed and faster in many cases.

Can non-DVC members use the online chat?

No; you need to be authenticated for it to appear (and for that, you'd need an account).

I have never found the phone call to be particularly onerous.
Good point. I was logged in to do online chat so it may not be for everyone but OP seems to be an owner.

And no the exchange is not going to be added to your DVC account but Disney Experience App.

This is why I love this place. When I called DVC I was told they can't help me and I need to get a reservation number from II. When I called II they said the res number won't generate for a while. It'd be nice if the customer support staff actually knew what was going on. I was just on DVC chat and followed Dioxide's suggestions, and they said they cannot locate it yet and that it can take a few days to a week, but to go back to Chat and they will locate it for me.

Yeah. I always wait at least a couple weeks before calling. If it was just confirmed today or in the last few days, DVC probably doesn't have the reservation details back from II. Marriott is nice in this regard as one can usually look up a reservation that was made through II the next day.

It's usually around 2 to 3 days. Something in the back of my mind says they get used to get them on Tuesdays and Thursday but not certain.
