Anybody worried about the day that the Marriott/Vistana IT system suffers a Southwest Airlines type meltdown. Leaves us all sitting on our thumbs. The only system that will still work is the ability to take our money.

They can't even take most people's money right now. People are not able to pay their Club Dues...

Not very likely it will happen if they use the Marriott International reservation system. But can you imagine if the resorts lost access to the bookings?

Marriott International's reservation system is about as old as that of Southwest Airlines.

I am pleased to report success!

Second time's the charm. The points I needed were successfully transferred to me and now appear in my MVC account. So the answer is YES – it works – though it may take multiple tries and perseverance to find an MVC rep who knows how to make it happen.

I have the same issue. Elected my VSN points to Abound but cannot transfer to another Marriott owner. I couldn't do it in January but want to try again. Care to share the details? Thanks!o_O

Anyone willing to transfer 100 points to me? I'll pay the going rate.

I am a resale Vistana owner grandfathered in Abound because of mandatory weeks purchased prior to the cutoff date. I want to test how points transfers work.

Just wanted to double down on this thread in case anyone ends up searching this out like I had to. The 13 digit number derived from the URL (as described) is the MVC ”owner ID” needed to receive MVC Points. I first called the cross/trained customer support number that’s in the pinned thread on the front page to confirm the account number. I then rented 3500 and the seller used the normal process to call and transfer the points using the 13 digit number and my name for verification. Points were there instantly and I made my reservation.

According to the owner, typical MVC account numbers are 7 or 8 digits, so they may ask why it’s so long. According to customer support, all Vistana transplants that aren’t MVC owners will have a longer 13 digit number but the process to transfer points is otherwise the same. Hope this helps someone. I think it’s a pretty awesome “perk” As part of the Abound addition.
