Can MMO and MM1 guests use pools/facilities at both properties?

MM1 definitely has the better units, but MMO pool area is much larger (much busier too).

Can guests go back and forth?

Are wristbands required?

In a few weeks we are staying next door at the Hyatt and might get my parents a room at either MMO/MM1.

Yes, it is one large shared property. I seem to recall a wristband. This is to ensure people staying at other Kaanapali beach resorts don't come in and use the pools. There seems to be some issues with people trying to pool hop between many of the resorts.

Not necessarily true...it depends on what you care about. Now that MMO has an apartment sized refrigerator in the kitchenette many/most people find it more than adequate for their needs and for them the extra bathroom is more important than a stove. Also, OF at MMO has better views than Napili and much of Lahaina. The big difference in our minds is the W/D in the villa...which more than anything else is why we bought at MM1.

All that said, if you're looking at getting a studio for your parents the kitchen/kitchenette, extra bathroom, and W/D issues are all moot - they are only in 1BR and larger villas.

It’s all one resort- there are not separate pools for each tower/code.
No wrist bands last November.

When we stay with no stove, the grills more than make up for it. Plus who wants to cook indoors on Hawaii. We save laundry for the other islands

We were there last month and the pool hut crew was handing out wrist bands to everyone. As noted, no distinction between MMO and MM1 pool access.

I remember that now. Had to get a new wristband daily.
