Hi
Just found out there is a cancelled family who were going to use one of our weeks we booked in Maz. I realize its a $50 fee to return the week to our account, but not sure if I am allowed to rent it out.

Can you clarify this a bit? Did you deposit a week that you own at PB Mazatlan into RCI? If so, and it has not been taken by someone else in an exchange, you can get it back. I assume that's what you meant with reference to the $50 fee.

Once you have it back from RCI, you can do whatever you like with it--it's your week, if it's a week you actually own and not one you got on an exchange.

Hi Karen,
Just to clarify -
we booked two weeks at our own resort as soon as we paid our MF last year. I thought if I returned them or changed dates, they were subject to a $50 week fee.

The other week we used our SA and exchanged through RCI. That one I know we can't rent, and it was done a year ago so its probably worthless by now.

So we thought we would use that week for ourselves, and one of our other owned weeks for the second week.

We would try renting the first week if it is allowed.

Hope that clears it up.

Thanks
Diane

Sorry, I don't know the Pueblo Bonito policy about making a reservation for your own week and then changing the dates. We own a fixed week at PB Rose so we haven't been through the reservation procedures for selecting/changing a reserved week.

An email to owner services or reservations at PB Mazatlan should clarify things. That's a bummer that they would charge $50 to change a date!

I own at Emerald Bay PB...and yes, they have a $50 fee to make any change in the reservation such as date change. I don't know how it works if you are an owner of other resorts in Puerto Vallarta...but Pueblo Bonito has a change fee.

we own two weeks at PB Maz and rented our oceanfront room this year. I just emailed the resort and let them know that a friend would be using our ownership week this year with all the particulars and gave them his name and address. He had no problems at the resort.
