I am looking into an auction for a Sunterra resort. I do not own any other Sunterra resort. Is there a membership fee to join Sunterra? If I'm an RCI points member, can I have RCI points instead?

Thanks.

Not a good candidate for conversion to Club Sunterra. Can't tell you exactly how many SunOptions it would convert to since it's a Float and not a fixed week, but I would guess 4000 -5000 every other year since it's a biennial. That's not a lot of points to go with conversion costs and annual Club fee of $149. If you do a search on Sunterra on this BBS you'll see lots of examples of GREAT conversion candidates found on eBay many of which haven't been moderated out.

Currently on eBay
Item number: 4441200252 would yield 8000 SunOptions/year
Item number: 4440014687 would yield 11000 SunOptions/year

but if you just wanted to go to Sedona every other year in a Studio sized unit and not be a member of Club Sunterra, that's a good buy. It should trade OK for a small sized unit in RCI weeks if you reserved a holiday week and deposited a year in advance.
