When you bought direct from Marriott, what did you get as part of your sales pitch to buy a Marriott?

When we bought from Disney, we received a really nice coffee table book with a DVD of the Disney resorts. We bought our Marriott resale so I'm curious. I guess I really need to attend a timeshare sales offer from Marriott one of these days (laughter).

You get a nice binder with all of the MVCI resorts. lots of glossy photos. Real nice! one of those MVCI beach bags. Also a leather passport portfolio things, with a nice letter from Peter Watzka.

Thanks for the reply. Had always wondered what Marriott gave to direct purchasers.

I noticed the last time we stayed at Marriott's Cypress Harbour that the Marriott channel wasn't showing any video on Marriott Vacation Club like they did on previous visits. Kind of wondered if they had stopped it, or if they were coming out with something new.

We've received basically nothing (Grande Vista) to a nice tour book of Hawaii and canvas briefcase thing (filled with all your ownership junk at first). I think we also got a maintenance fee bill, suitable for framing.

I got a beautiful Williamsburg blanket with my first purchase at MMC, and a Palm Pilot with Marriott's name stamped on it for my second along with a Williamsburg cookbook. At BeachPlace all they gave me was 2 BPT beach towels. Canyon Villas didn't give me anything! I think these were gifts from the sales rep and not the resort or MVCI.

Of course ... from my first purchase to last the number of points increased from 200k to 500k (incl non-year use) so I didn't complain too much. :)

We bought at MGV in April 2005.

We received
2 MGV embroidered towels
The binder with information
the canvas bag, which is junk but I still keep all my MVCI papers in it
And we received 125,000 marriott points (approximate to my memory)
