Trying to decide when and is time off foot really six weeks?

I have the chance to do this in April but worry about recovery time. Don't want to be a burden during summer. g about winter since not so active time of year.
I need words of encouragement, the pain is getting worse.
If you have any advice, it would be appreciated. Would you do surgery again, better time of year, etc

My SiL had bunions removed and hammer toes fixed, on both feet at once, a few years ago. She chose to have the surgery in May so she wouldn't need to wear shoes (just sandals) for quite a while (months). She was off work 4 weeks but has an office job. She was in a lot of pain for the first few days but now says it was totally worth it as she can wear regular shoes again. YMMV

Good Luck!
