Our son and daughter-in-law were in a unit, we were in a unit two doors down at Newport Coast last week. Our son noticed that I didn't flush after peeing in our hall bathroom. I told him that California has a severe water shortage, so we try to pee at least 3 or 4 times before flushing. He was grossed out by that and said he had no idea CA was so short of water. Really, son? No news for you, since you became a dad, or what?

For many years, our timeshare in NH has dispensers in the bathrooms for shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner.

But sometimes the cleaning staff forgets to refill them and I have to call.

Here in Idaho, we have lots of water, so we flush twice, because it's a long way to California.

Good question. It probably depends on the definition of "rented" or "rental".

The law states that the prohibition applies to all "lodging establishments" with "lodging establishments" defined in the law as:

“Lodging establishment” means an establishment that contains one or more sleeping room accommodations that are rented or otherwise provided to the public, including, but not limited to, a hotel, motel, resort, bed and breakfast inn, or vacation rental. “Lodging establishment” does not include a hospital, nursing home, residential retirement community, prison, jail, homeless shelter, boarding school, worker housing, long-term rental, or hosted rental.
