We're heading to OceanWatch for the 1st time in approx 3 weeks... using an OceanFront week. Which building do you like the best and why?

Thanks!

Hello,

With oceanwatch it really depends on what you are looking for. If you are slotted to get an oceanfront room then I would suggest either the Conch building or Scallop building. The reason is they are the two front buildings with direct oceanfront rooms that are set on each side of the pool with the beach directly in front. The other classified oceanfront rooms are in the starfish building which is behind the pool and will directly look over the pool through in between the conch and scallop building at the ocean.

They have four classification of room types at Oceanwatch. Oceanfront, Oceanside, Oceanview, and Garden. They also have two back buildings that side a bit behind the previous three I just described that are all oceanview and garden view. These are great for kids, it has a kids pool, treehouse, waterslide etc, very kid centric. The oceanside rooms that I have stayed in are in the conch and scallop building are very nice.

Hope that answers all your questions.....the resort is very nice and it is my understanding that it is fully completed and fully functioning......have fun.

Thanks very much, rpluskota!

We appreciate your input! That was exactly the type of feedback we were interested in receiving. We have an OceanFront room, and our 9-year old son is going with us. He's already very excited about the treehouse and the water slide, not to mention the golf courses. We've been to Hilton Head about 4-5 times, but never to Myrtle Beach.

Thanks again for taking the time to offer your comments!

Is there any difference between the Conch and the Scallop buildings?

Anyone have any additional opinions or suggestions?

Thanks!

If you will have an oceanfront villa I would think they would be the same. However, if you have a lower level oceanfront villa in the Scallop building, you may have more noise due to the walkway traffic in front of that building. All the folks staying in the Pine/Maple villas will likely take that walkway to the beach. The gas grills are in front of that area and I think a ping pong table...or maybe a billards table is right below that 1st level villa. A little higher up (I would think) would not be a problem. You will have a great vacation either way, our family loves the place! Enjoy! Mark
