I am looking for advice on a trip we hope to make into the Branson area with another couple in October. We plan on golfing and taking in some shows. So far we have searches going for Stonebridge Village, Big Cedar Wilderness Club and WorldMark Branson. I know that the first 2 are outside Branson but they seem very appealing. Can anybody provide me advice on the resorts we have chosen so far, and advise if there are others that we should include in our search?

Thanks

I don't know if you can exchange within II, but if so, check out Horizon's by Marriott in Branson. We own there and it is 5-star. Much closer to the shows and golf than the ones you are looking at.

If you can get a Big Cedar, 2-bedroom 6/6 (a log cabin), your search is over. Even in a lodge unit, your search is over.

Big Cedar is head and shoulders above any other Branson resort. It rates with the finest resorts anywhere. It is a unique vacation experience with a particular arrray of amenities on-site that you not find elsewhere.

I can help with golf, too. Feel free to drop me an email.

I'd also take Stonebridge over anything in town, especially if you can finnagle them out of golf on the excellent Ledgestone course. Thousand Hills, in town, does not even hold a candle to Ledgestone.

Didn't I just say this somewhere else?

JLB's right. If you can swing Big Cedar, take it.

Thanks folks for the comments/advice. Since first posting, we were offered a week starting October 20th in a 2 bedroom lock-out. We accepted it and now are browsing web sites to figure out how we can make best use of our time. There is a lot to chose from and I may have to follow-up for more information on golf courses in the area. JLB I will contact you directly in the near future... Thanks.

By the way, October is usually a great month in Missouri, IMHO, the best. I say usually since the weather has been so crazy this past year, who knows what will happen next.

It was still swimming weather last year.

That is the week(end) of the many HUGE craft shows in NW Arkansas, within a couple hours. We did them for many years.
