Today's Money section of the USA Today newspaper had a writeup on a new type of Antivirus protection for you PC. The protection comes in the form of something new called Web-based "Cloud" computing. Other antivirus programs must be down loaded on your computer and updated and run on a reqular basis. This slows your computer down and ties up hard drive space. Web-based "cloud" computing works by moving it into a data center sitting in the internet cloud. To tap into this free service, you download a small pop-up dashboard from www.cloudantivirus.com . The dashboard connects your PC to Panda's data center, which monitors suspicious coding that comes into contact with your PC. While the data center keeps track of anything that looks remotely suspicious, it will only take action if an unauthorized program begins to execute on your PC. Panda says a virus is basically harmless until it's loaded into memory and executed. Sounds to good to be true. HAS ANYONE TRIED IT YET ??? Bye the way, I emailed Panda and asked what else on my PC they would be monitoring.
