Brain fog from stress

Instacart does not service our area, hence the problem. I found farmboxdirect.com on the internet for fresh fruits and vegetables and I am expecting my first box on Fri. A friend recommended butcherbox.com for meat and I am fortunate in that I signed up a couple of days ago as they are now waitlisting new customers. My husband used wine.com for his wine. Since we have TP at home, I think we are all set for staying at home!
I am on the butcher box.com wait list Plus lots of other waitlists. I don’t eat meat but it is a must for my other half. With hit and miss getting it here in the markets, last time he had to go into 4 groceries to get meats. He purchased so much and it is almost gone. He eats a lot.

I think I will try farmboxdirect. Do you get credit for a referral? If so private message me the info.

as told / explained to my wife 40 years ago - by a psychologist .

Anxiety is the illusion of control .

The future is ALWAYS an unknown . Our brains want control - and we / our brain assumes that predictability exists . When our illusions are disrupted by events ( personal or worldwide). brain things like the fight or flight mechanism - excessive option thinking etc. occur . There are body & brain chemistry functions that can explain this since we are animal biology based .

strategies :
1) each night - make a small list of things to do [3- 4 items] ( pay the phone bill , call mom) this way when you wake up at 4 am worried - you calm yourself & go back to sleep.

2 ) do the things on your list - it makes you feel like you accomplished something -

3) If anxiety bubbles up first thing in the morning or during the day - ask yourself “ what is the worst thing that can happen today” -generally
it will not be as worrisome as the zombie apocalypse .

4 ) Read TUG or something similar you enjoy .It will take your mind off the worry treadmill .

Oh, yeah? I'll have to look into this -- I've had constant background tinnitis for years and my doctor has always just shrugged it off.

I'm going to read about magnesium glicinate too. Right ear, way into the background, almost more of a "feeling" than a hum. Started in the last few months at same time chronic dry cough did -- when my new cholesterol med gets down to two weeks I'll call my PCP because I'm pretty sure the cough is a result of the Rx, so maybe the tinnitus is too.

Funny tinnitus story. Our dearly departed Smokee had tinnitus so bad we could hear it. Mentioned it to the vet, so there are the three of us around the magic stainless steel table on one visit with our heads leaned in close to a kitty skull. Vet called his partner in because they had read about audible tinnitus in cats but had never come across a case before.

I can relate to this. It is causing me a lot of anxiety. I was super anxious for the past 2 weeks. Now I am moving toward acceptance. It is what it is. I am still anxious but not half as much as a few days ago. I am actually starting to enjoy being home 24/7 with my husband and pets. I am worried about how life will be when this all ends since some of my plans were gutted by the coronavirus.

I am not enjoying it at all. I find it boring, though I keep busy with stuff but I have had enough of it. Not what I want to do. I am glad I am in this community because when I do take a walk people are outside and we can talk a bit. But really can't do much else. My husband and I get on each other's nerves but we are ok so far overall.

I wanted to drive to other areas here to take walks for a change of scenery but not sure where. Some parking lots for major hiking trails were overrun this weekend.

I am finding when I go to bed I just want to sleep, which I find hard, and get up in the morning and this all be over. I know we all feel that way.
