I have bought several timeshare resale over past 6 months with Wyndham. I have 2 Fixed weeks for points 1 Even Year UDI, 1 Odd Year UDI and 1 annual UDI. I also have a Fixed Fair Share Contract for useage at that resort during that given week. My points total is 547,000 each year and I know I cant get VIP do to buying resales, but my questions that I need answered is:

When I was on a Wyndham Timeshare presentation where they tried to sell me more points, they mentioned since I own other timeshares that are not Wyndham and are Fixed weeks with Shearton and other companies, I could convert them to Wyndham Points and those coversions go toward VIP, I cant get answers on how I do this as they were trying to sell me more points.

Anyone got answers on how this works?

I own several 1 and 2 brdm Floating and fixed weeks that are not Wyndham that I have to exchange with RCI. I would prefer them to got to point with Wyndam- Please help if anyone knows any answers.

That one is easy, you would need to buy a new contract, then depending how many points you bought and how bad they was sale, you could get up to two non-Wyndham contracts added as what they call PIC contracts. These would give you credit towards VIP status. As I understand it, if you bought a contract (including the points associated with the PIC contracts) that gave you VIP, Gold, or Plantium Status then all Wyndham contract points would enjoy the appropriate VIP status. Another words, an example: One Wyndham contract was purchased and two PIC contracts were added. The total number of points on just these three units equals 500,000 Wyndham points, then the VIP Status would be gold. The owner then owns 10 re-sale contracts for 1,000,000 points. All points in the account then get the discount of 35 percent for booking purposes for reservations made 60 days or less.

P.S. You get the morning newspaper that way. Sorry, I could not resist.

Welcome!

They were probably talking about the PIC program. This is a program where non-Wyndham timeshares are included into one's Wyndham portfolio. The number of points assigned is based on the unit size of the PIC-ed week. For example 154k points for a 2 bedroom.

This can be a good deal, but here is the catch. You have to make a purchase of a corresponding amount of Wyndham points from the developer. So to match a 2 bedroom PIC unit, you would have to make a purchase of at least 154k points.

One good thing about the PIC program is that you can decide from year to year whether you want to use your deeded week or use for PIC points. A downside is you have to choose to PIC the week pretty far in advance and you have to have the maintenance fees for that unit paid in advance.

I've explained this as clearly as I can, probably someone else can do it. better.

You did much better than I did. However, I recently took a 84,000 point new contract, got to purchase a Sands Ocean Resorts Property lease (Beach at Mrytle Beach) for zero dollars, just take over the maintenance fees and an additional program fee for the lease. That got me 105,000 pick points. Also included was a fixed week conversion for 154,000 points for $189 dollars (plus or minus a few bucks). With Wyndham, the minium number of points on a new contract is a negotable issue relating to the number of points the PIC contract will bring in. You are correct their opening position is as you indicated in most sales presentations.

No need to pay Wyndham

That would be the PIC program. To qualify you'd have to purchase a significant amount of grossly overpriced retail points & you'd still own (and owe) the annual fees for the non-Wyndham timeshares as well as the fees for the new points plus your other point holdings.

It would actually far cheaper to sell your non-Wyndham week(s) and use the money to get additional resale points. Paying retail for Wyndham points never makes financial sense when you can get them fro pennies or even free practically at will.
