Booking with Star Options

Im fairly new to this site and I have read a lot of information but I need some insight on booking at other resorts with Star Options. How difficult is it to book into Hawaii resorts? My family typically goes in November to Maui. Is it realistic to think you can book into Hawaii at that time? Are other resorts difficult as well?

I'm asking because I am thinking of canceling an upgrade purchase from a WDW resale. I purchased a resale on Ebay but its is limiting because of no star options. So if I trade up and get 148,100 options I want to how easy it is to use them at the other resorts.

To make a Staroption reservation, you need to go online at midnight Eastern the night before the phone lines open, at exactly 8 mos. before check-in. If you wait and call the next day, there probably won't be anything left.

If by November, you mean "Thanksgiving" - it's unlikely. If you are flexible, and can go any week/any check-in date in November, you can probably get something.

For example, the Saturday check-in for Thanksgiving 2017 hasn't opened for Staroption reservations yet, but it's already almost booked solid by home resort reservations. Nanea is still available, but limited, so may not make it until 3/18 when the window opens.
 
Thank you for the information. We goto Hawaii the two weeks before Thanksgiving. But based on the information I'm leaning toward canceling. I'm guessing most of the resorts work the same way.

Two weeks before Thanksgiving should be doable. I just looked at Nov. 4th, and it has a lot of availability.
 
Low season is not that difficult.
Rescind the WDW 'deal'.

I own WKV (Plat+) and WKORV OF (resale) - great resorts, and good value if played right.

I rescinded today. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep my eyes open for the other resorts resale.
