As usual, airlines in bankruptcy are cheapest online... I need an open-jaw flight this summer to Europe, Delta's coming up least expensive. This is for May/June. How safe do you airline experts think this would be to book now?
Also... how far in advance is it best to do this? Destinations are NC to Venice and Copenhagen to NC. Already between last night and today, the prices went up for best flight, on Expedia. Booking directly thru Delta is 50% more $$. This is so frustrating - and always seems to happen lately. And, it's as if they are remembering that I already looked at specific flights, and increased the ones I clicked on specifically. This wasn't my experience years ago, but recently I'm having trouble finding prices I like, for more than about 15 minutes. (Recently waiting a day, or part of a day, has cost me hundreds of $$!)
Then, change rules are stricter thru Expedia etc - I always like to book direct if possible. I don't have FF miles for this trip, unless I can possibly use Capital One miles.
I know I could do this less expensively booking to London and then use LCC's, but that's maybe more hassle than I care for at the moment, since the ones I need are often from different airports, and/or at times that are too difficult, and adds too much stress to the process, when I have to find 2 more hotels, and/or risk booking on separate airlines...
Unlike bargain-hunting for TS vaca's, I really dislike the airline part of this process.
