Booking my 2 weeks into DEX

Point at Poipu: Formerly Diamond, now Hilton Grand Vcations
Greetings. I have 2 weeks of deeded float weeks at the Point at Poipu (formerly Diamond). I have an Ocean Front week, and an Ocean View week. I do not want to use the weeks this year. I called Hilton and they said I have to book the weeks on a reservation first, then I can move it to DEX. However, they said there is currently NO inventory. They said if I don’t get it booked in 2025 I will forfeit the weeks. How do I avoid this disaster?
 
That is terrible. If it's two deeded weeks, don't they have to have spots available for usage, even if it's not desirable weeks? Is it because you waited too far into 2025 to make a reservation?
Do you know what tier level the weeks would be on DEX?

I can see 2-bedroom weeks available but only in August 2025. Maybe it's too last minute? I've never been in this situation. Are your weeks 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom?
 
I have 2 bedroom Ocean View, and 2 bedroom Ocean Front. I called again last night, and they were able to book one of the weeks, then put it into DEX. The other one, they just said call back

I did get one of the weeks booked into DEX. The other week they just said call back as there is no inventory? This is not fun.
 
Any time you are trying to reserve for same year as your use year you run the risk of something not being available. It is possible there were unreserved weeks prior to the current week. Those are now people trying to reserve for later in the year. With unreserved weeks there is now more unreserved owners than there are weeks left in the year.
 
Thank you for that explanation. The key then is to book early!
