Hi Ashley:
Welcome to TUG.
Your Wyndham account size is XXX,XXX points per year . Your annual maintenance dues are probably between $1,000 - $2,000.
Take your dues and divide by the number of points per year. That is what each point costs you.
Let's pretend it was 225,000 points and the maintenance is $1,500.00
$1500 annual maintenance fees / 225,000 annual points = .00667
.00667 x 92,250 points for National Harbour reservation = $615.00
If this is your first reservation for the year, there may not be a guest certificate fee right now. But you will most likely have to pay pay one on your next reservation, so it would be correct to charge the amount (probably $100 or so). Call Wyndham and ask.
And be sure to explain to your friend, this is NOT a "cancel because you decided to NOT GO or someone is sick or a cheaper place (like a friend's free condo)" You lose all points if YOU cancel this reservation within 14 days of the checkin. YOU lose the guest certificate fee if you have to change it (I use the $129 "call in" fee as almost all last minute changes HAVE to be called into Wyndham). You booked 7 nights and your friend decides they are going for only 5 night. Divide by 7 times 5 is NOT Wyndham math. Have in writing NONREFUNDABLE;DATES CAN NOT BE CHANGED ... all units are SMOKE FREE and PET FREE.
Friends want a deal ... you are proud of ownership ... YOU are sharing and they feel entitled because they are paying. You product is not from Walmart ,, returnable with no questions.
PS I rented out my cabin near a ski slope. My good friend's girlfriend DEMANDED their money back because it DID NOT SNOW over the weekend they had rented. Yes, the ski slopes were open ... but I was NOT RENTING the ski anything. Nor could I control the weather. They got their MONEY BACK and I told him to "***k O**.
