I know Air Tran allows reserving exist row seats (for a cost) but I wonder if Southwest does this as well?

My son is 6' 5" and this makes travel so much better for him.

Thanks for your reply.

Southwest is 'take any empty seat'. If no one is in that exit row seat, and you qualify- over 18, able to operate the door, etc, sit on down. It's yours. There is no way that I'm aware of, to reserve any seat. Moreover, if a passenger is over a certain girth, Southwest will happily charge for 2 seats on a full flight- refunded if there is even one empty seat.

Southwest offers "Business Select" at a good deal more cost, but you are assured very first "A" boarding pass, and very first selection of seats.

Now if the assured seat selection is worth the extra cost ...

On most Southwest flights there is no one in the Business Select boarding group. So, if you get your boarding pass 24 hours ahead of time you will still be in the first group to board.
