There have been several discussions regarding BOD's at various resorts and how many work for MVC or may not effectively represent the legacy owners. This is a list of the BOD's at some of my resorts. I've found this information in my emailed audit statements and updates. You will recognize many of the names from previous threads and some have been on the board as long as I can remember. The purpose of this thread is to provide a current list for each resort. These lists include the names from my most recent news letters and audit reports. I received a newsletter from Royal Palms but it didn't include the BOD list.

I haven't received any communication or newsletters from Ocean Pointe or Oceana Palms. I previously was able to access them in the past on the MVC website in my resort portfolio, but can no longer find a link. I hope someone else can provide this information. As an owner, it is becoming much more difficult to find information that was previously provided and updated. Is there a current list of BOD's at each resort?

For mine, I can access them on the MVC site by going to Account, then Overview from top menu bar, then on next page, under Owners Association, click View Owners Association Documents, and the BOD list appears on the next listing.

Thanks. I doubt I would have thought to look there. I looked under the resorts and my vacationclub portfolio sections. I found where the documents are supposed to be. It's interesting that most documents for Oceana Palms show 'Nothing there". It would be very helpful if they also included a link to the current and most recent year maintenance fees.

hmm, stickies are nearly half the first page for MVC here, might make some sort of consolidation sticky that links to some of these posts to make things less cluttered. let me think on it.

What if instead of all the individual stickies, there was a single "Important Marriott Info, Look Here first" stickie? This could then contain a table of contents type outline, with links to all the individual threads. This would be a much cleaner look.

thats what many forums do, though some of the more important ones im fine with having as their own main titles (helps with searches as well)

I like it, will take a look tomorrow to see how it might work. :)

not sure removing them ALL to replace with a single one is the way to go, but I am in favor of some consolidation!

some phrases/titles simply need to be at the top so folks will read them and click on them. vs having to go another level down.

Makes sense. How long can a thread title be? :ponder:

Based on many questions in the forum, it seems many people skim past the stickies.

that problem gets worse if there was only one...even if it said "click here to read this first or else!!!"

I'm thinking that the sticky threads listed below remain as individual threads and the rest, including this one, get linked into a sticky thread titled, "Important/Recurring Marriott/Abound TUG Threads"

Marriott Abound ... FAQ
Marriott ... Weeks FAQ
ROFR ...
Current Annual MF's
... IT Issues ...

So, six stickies total? (Of the rest my personal preference to keep separate would be the resort photos/videos.) Anybody else have comments? @TUGBrian, specifically, your comments?
I would suggest seeing if this thread has legs before making it even a sub sticky.

I think if we've already got the board member listings for a half-dozen resorts, that's valuable information that I think we should make easy to find (and, let's face it, the search feature is.....sub-optimal.) But, then again, I'm the one that started this part of the conversation, and I'm not even a Marriott owner, LOL (just someone who believes that HOA boards need to be transparent and accountable.)

I think some good threads to have listed as links in a single sticky would be;
  • Photos and Videos thread
  • ROFR thread
  • View from the Balcony Thread (I can never find it and oddly a search of "Balcony" in titles doesn't seem to bring it up)
  • Points price history (another thread that doens't come up with a search)
I am sure there are more.

I'm not so sure that this BOD thread really belongs since it doesn't seem to have a lot of traction and likely won't be updated as the info changes from year to year.

I have no idea what to title such a thread.

Keeping the weeks and points FAQ separate is good and I think the annual maintenance fee thread listed separatly is good.

Some of the existing stickies that could be dumped;
  • The ongoing system issues. Everyone just starts a new thread anyway now.
  • The Free usage thread. Only five posts over two years. Not many people offering up their points for free.
I'm not sure how I feel about that ongoing Ocean Pointe thread. No other resort has such a thread. It just seems odd as a sticky. Perhaps it gets put in the new post linking to ongoing threads.

Two additional MVW employees appointed today to the RCC SF property BOD such that the 4/5 seats are now occupied by MVW reps.
MVW reps on the board are Stacey Jackson Rauso, Don Baarman, Lisa Trosset and Daniel Craig.

The name Lisa Trosset was new to me - basic google search turned up the following on-point hit, among others: https://www.facebook.com/groups/48131613756/posts/10160819103753757/

From an owner's perspective it is horrifying; from a lawyer's perspective, it is hilarious. This will be a long show, but it is getting better with each "own goal" they score. Our theory is that they are waiting until the next complaint if filed, at which time they will just attempt to buy us off. Too bad for them we are not motivated by money.

Don Baarman is now on at least three BOD's. There should definitely be a limit in how many BOD's that a person can be on, especially MVC employees. This is exactly a reason that I think this thread is important for legacy owners. I wish more owners would post the BOD's for their resorts.

I believe many of the owners on here are just don't care and view their "ownership" as simply a pre-paid hotel. I don't judge anyone else's choices, but those are not the folks with whom I would want to share ownership.

There was another thread where a few posited that the higher-end properties were the ones where there was more pushback because the buy-ins and MF were multiples of the ordinary MVC member buy-in, but @SueDonJ was insistent that "owners" at "run of the mill" MVC properties were equally diligent. I do not have any insight on that issue, but just note that my posts on here are meant to increase awareness for anyone who cares.

So, with the above said, thank you for being one of those who is paying attention and who cares. It is fascinating to watch the corporate train wreck in slow motion while there is still time to avoid it. Nobody knows how it will end, but I will be documenting it one way or the other because I am retired and this is just plain interesting on many levels.
