Every year we reserve a week at Mission Hills and go to the Indian Wells Tennis tournament. We just received an email that the tournament is cancelled due to the Coronavirus. Not sure if we will still go to the desert (tickets will be refunded). I will also be curious to see how Vistana handles this if at all. I will keep you posted.

"The Riverside County Public Health Department has declared a public health emergency for the Coachella Valley after a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) locally. As a result, the 2020 BNP Paribas Open will not take place at this time due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus and the safety of the participants and attendees at the event. This is following the guidance of medical professionals, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and State of California."

Many tennis spectators are over 50, so this makes sense to me. However, I wish the tournament could have continued without the fans. It would have been nice to enjoy this tournament in the safety of our homes. Perhaps some of the tennis players didn't want to travel by air.

I saw the same. I wonder what will happen w/ Coachella and StageCoach. Younger crowd though.

I just called owner services and cancelled my reservation at mission hills for March 16-25. They waived the restrictions on the staroptions but still charged me the $75 cancellation fee.

I think with those festivals and demographic you’re probably worried about a different kind of outbreak. ;)

We are still going to Mission Hills because of major construction at our home. We did just cancel going to Arizona following the desert since Spring Training is about to be cancelled. Options not restricted but still charged the $75. Given the way the world is that is not a good policy. There have been many cancellations.
