Bluegreen rep had a hissy fit when I didn't want to go to a new owner's meeting

I feel you, OP. This happens to me every single time I go to Wyndham Glacier Canyon. It's bad at pretty much every Wyndham, but Glacier Canyon is particularly egregious.

A few stays ago, the woman at the parking pass desk introduced herself as Harmony. She was just as sweet as pie, until she could tell that I wasn't going to do the update. Then she tossed the parking pass at me, and gave me a super-snippy, "Have a nice day!" And I was as nice and polite to her as possible. I just said, "No thank you. I'm not interested." So much for harmony.

I see. Non qualified means I didn't buy from BG directly, right? But other than that, I have the same rights as any other owner, correct? Plus, I imagine they don't know HOW MUCH I paid for my points. ($15 on ebay, vs about $14,000 that BG would have charged!!!)
To the OP...
This episode is over. Just start smiling from head to toe. I saved $13,985 dollars from BG. Thank You parking pass person. May the ts Force be with You.

To the OP,

Get used to it. Doesn't have to be where you own, can also be a trade. Just say NO and stick to it.

Nancy

What resort were you at when this happened? It doesn't sound very courteous, that's for sure.

I never go to updates and haven't ever been hassled at a Bluegreen resort

Last week I was at playa grande in cabo on an exchange. After hearing horror stories about how aggressive sales is there, I was ready for a fight. We had to get our pool cards (rather than parking pass) from them, otherwise I'd have skipped it. But I politely stood by the chair as she encouraged us repeatedly to sit. I said that our groceries were sitting in the hot sun, that we certainly thanked her for the offer of a seat but we'd really like to get to our room, and we already own a lot of timeshares and didn't want a tour. She let us go with a smile and we weren't bothered again.

I sometimes travel without my husband which gives me a great out; I've gotten so used to saying that he isn't with me that I've actually said it with him standing next to me before! Lol, they let me go in a hurry!

That's a good one... I'd try it, if I didn't fear what my DW would do to me.
