I need to sell my timeshare before my wife beats me. Well, not really. We would like to buy a camper instead. We can at least go more places, and not have to worry about booking 10 months in advance only to fine many places already booked. Gets old. We've had it for 10 years or so and just don't use it as much now with kids.

That being said, I didn't really pay anything for my points, just have the fees.

So I am willing to sell my 19,000 ANNUAL Bluegreen points for like $500 or less. Or enough to cover fees to sell it. Seems easy to sell myself, but I have been warned not to.

Without going through a bunch of scams, gags, and payments, what is my next plan?
Like something that really works.

I have 3 deeds that total the points. One set of points (12K) comes in Sept (with two deeds), the other 7K come in Jan. Be cool to see all at once.

I am serious, I don't need the cash, just want to let go so I can use the fees on a new camper, etc.

Thanks! Brian

This is an odd ad- if that's what you intend.

You are welcome to post an ad in the Bargain Deals subforum. Just follow the basic information you'll see there. Note, that since you have 3 contracts, it will require 3 title transfers. Many TUGgers use www.LTTransfers.com (who are TUGgers) to do them at a reasonable cost- Of course, it isn't rocket science to do yourself.

Good Luck and Happy Camping.

Jim

Check the Bargain Deals section here in the message board, you can place an ad to give it away for free as long as you only ask the buyer pay the closing costs. Check out the other ads and the Sticky adviceat the top on how to list all the details to get the most interest. I’ve given away 2 for free on here.

You could also join TUG main site for $15 and place a for sale ad for the price you want. TUG2.NET

Thanks, but I looked through and didn't see a lot of interest in even those offered to give it away.
How "easy" is the process? I read so many things, all different forms of advice.

Yes, to get people to click and help me.

I'd also suggest that you avoid those 'get you out of your timeshare' outfits. They take your money and disappear. Hundreds of people have successfully given them away- or sold them on TUG- or Redweek, or eBay. It takes some persistence, some follow up. Refresh your ads from time to time. Include current pictures, and perhaps some testamonials of great family vacations at your resorts. Some folks have offered to set up a vacation for the new owners or a gift card when the transfer is completed.

Again. . . Good Luck

All that to give away free. Why would it be so hard to give away?

There are Bluegreen Facebook groups where people buy/sell/giveaway points contracts. The BGEx yahoo group also works. I used the yahoo group to find a new home for my 2 contracts a few months back.

Make sure you ask the receiver to pay the $450 fee. Bluegreen sometimes exercises ROFR. If they choose to do so, the receiver gets reimbursed for the fee... the seller/giver does not.

odd, the last 4 posts in this forum alone offering bluegreen points for free had plenty of interested parties.
That's why I am asking. I looked, some chatter from 1-2 replies and then nothing. Did they get sold?

If you list what you have clearly (where your points are, week, unit size), give it away at no cost ( will go faster if you pay closing costs), the bargain section here on tug should give you results within a few weeks. I would also list in it the tug marketplace as I have had success giving away timeshares there too.

On Facebook, there is a Bluegreen forum that you can offer it there too.

I do not know the answer for Bluegreen, maybe another tugger does but for example, in hgvc if you gift a timeshare and sign an notarized affidavit that it is a gift there will be no rofr.

Thanks for your help. I’ll see what I can do. Read how to list

Please also list the maintenance fees and the trust(s).

Don’t even know what a trust fund is.
Your first step should be to contact Bluegreen to get the details of your ownership.

At minimum, you want to know your trust fund. Also helpful... sale type and resort, week/unit numbers for each contract.

It sounds like you don't clearly understand what you own. Before you give this away maybe you should do some research to see if you can use your ownership more effectively. There is a learning curve to timeshare ownership and you may find that you already own what you need to reach your goals. Just my $.02

I've had it for almost 14 years. Know how to use it. Just with kids, don't have time to always plan months and months ahead and can't always go for a week at a time. By time my or my wife's work approves vac, 90% of choices are booked up 5-7 mo in advance.

I have 2 deeds.

I have three deeds in FL. From 3 different sales. However, in all my time with BG, I have never heard of a trust fund for my points.

If you don't have your paperwork from the purchases (where the pertinent details are listed), then call Bluegreen to retrieve this information. No one will take on your three contracts without the finer details. You have provided no relevant information except the combined total points and that they are spread among three contracts. "The devil is in the details." If you are looking for success, then give all pertinent info, plus any extras to entice someone.

All that to give away free. Why would it be so hard to give away?

Oh my gosh! Because most timeshares are worthless, yet have the ongoing fees. Isn't that why you want to be rid of it? You're going to have to be willing to put in the work necessary if you want to shed these contracts.

By the way, since you're new to the forums; DO NOT PAY AN UPFRONT FEE COMPANY to rid yourself of these contracts.

Many on TUG have given away their timeshares. It's doable, but not effortless. Welcome to TUG.

I mean, seems this is a good way to take advantage of good price if you use the club. I like the places. I’ve used it. I don’t mind the fees...at this time I don’t have time.

Here’s my info.
Sales type A
Trust Fund E

12k yearly, deeded at Shenandoah Crossing.
7k yearly, seeded at Carolina Grand.

Dues/Fees due Feb ‘19.

As others have stated the trust fund is important as it is responsible for determining your maintenance fees. Mixing trust funds translates into higher costs. Certain trust funds are better for more points, others are better for fewer points. The trust fund can be found in the estoppel from the resort.

Bluegreen contracts seem to get snapped up right away, so a well written, detailed ad (for each contract) will get the job done:

Resort Name:
Deeded Week:
Unit #:
Points:
Annual or EOY:
Trust Fund:
Sales Type:
Points available to transfer/expiration:
Maintenance fees:
Anniversary date:

Offer to pay the transfer fee to sweeten the deal.

Good info.

Now, how many annual points and saved points are in the account now ? And when do they expire. (February and/or September)
