Got this in the mail:

We will be holding a membership town hall meeting on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 9:00 a.m EST to discuss the planned improvements, special assessment details, and to answer any related questions.

Blue Ridge Village Hospitality Cabin
3781 Tynecastle Hwy, Banner Elk, NC 28604

Virtual Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/i/89667322334

(please note that the "i" may be a "j" as the typing isn't clear on the postcard I received)

Call In: 1-919-205-6099
Meeting ID: 89667322334

Unfortunately I work that date/time so I can't attend. I hope someone can ask about the fact that they are not processing deedbacks when they say they will (ie: Yes, you are eligible, we'll send you the stuff, and then we never do).

Especially in light of the special assessment.

I would go, even though we are in Colorado, but we are on Maui starting 2/14. I would get a super cheap exchange in and ask that very question and I would also like to see the updates they are planning that are costing us so much money in a SA, after they increased our fees by 20%. I don't do math well. $978 in 2021, $1,127 in 2022.

I know, right? And then the $500 or so due in June as well.
Ridiculous, IMO.

Its a Zoom meeting so you can attend from anywhere. I would hope they would offer a transcrip or recorded utube of the session. Is anyone aware of a write up or outline of whats going on? I must have missed it

9 AM Eastern Time is pretty early Maui time, it's 4 AM. I don't think I can do it.

Who tuned into this meeting and what came of it?

No updates on this? Did you get your marvelous special assessment letter? If not, let me fill you in:

2022 Assessment for a 1 bedroom, $462.08, 2023 assessment is $462.10. That is for the one bedroom in Blue Ridge Village 1
2022 Assessment for a 2 bedroom, $577.60, 2023 assessment is $577.63. That is for the one bedroom in Blue Ridge Village 1

If you need a payment plan, they will work with you, apparently. They also note that the 2023 projected assessment is an estimate and will be reassessed for accuracy prior to being billed. So it could go up, but doubtful that it will go down. You know people are not all going to pay these fees. It's always optional to pay maintenance fees and special assessments, if you don't care about your credit rating.

What's going on with the newer villas, the Blue Ridge Village 2 villas? What are the fees and special assessments?

I paid my fees ahead on Blue Ridge Village, paid 2024 fees a few days ago, deposited my 2024 week 23 into II, and Bluegreen called me today to tell me that I cannot deposit my 2024 week before 2023. How is this okay? I should be able to deposit my week, if I paid my 2024 fees.

Another reason for me to despise the management of Blue Ridge Village. I wish they would just dump our resort and allow the owners to decide who will manage it. It's disgusting that these companies pass off an entire resort, huge place, to another management company and the owners have to deal with whatever that management company deems is best for them.

Outrageous fees, special assessments, and arbitrary rules for depositing weeks. If Bluegreen's endgame is to force us to use RCI as an exchange company, I will stop paying fees and take the credit hit, but not until 2024.

What other reason could they possibly have to denying my deposit of my week 23, 2024? It's a deeded week. They have no right to deny my deposit.

I think you need to read the CC&R rules and any other HOA regs and amendments. Not all resorts let you deposit 24 months in advance. I own a different bluegreen flex week that allows me to split the week into a 3/4 or 4/3 reservation and for years they let me do it a year out when I prepaid and reserved my week. Then about 2 years they said I had to wait until 6 months if I wanted a split reservation, and said but if you look at my history I've been doing this for the last 6 years. They said that it was against the rules and they couldn't do it. I ask where the rule was and they sent me a copy and darn if it wasn't there.

I wouldn't assume that they are going to stop allowing II deposits. I haven't looked but are there any 2024 rci deposits?

@tschwa2, I just requested via chat for Bluegreen to send the governing documents to me via email. I hope they send them. I have historically always been able to deposit my weeks up to two years out.

Found out the answer as to why they will not let me deposit the 2024 week. It's because they don't know what the fees will be for 2024.

Really, so you are going to charge MORE THAN $1,127.34 for a 2 bed, 2 bath week, possibly in 2024? If they continue to charge that much, on top of a special assessment we just paid for about the same amount as a year of MF's, then I think it's obvious they want to chase legacy owners out.

My Foxrun is about $890 and management is constantly updating the place. Sounds like Blue Ridge Village is going to eat us alive with fees.

I am going to ask again for the CCR's from Bluegreen. They never did send them, as they said they would.
